It was definitely a fall day in the Finger Lakes with cloudy skies, temperatures in the low 50s, and a couple of spotty drizzles. The National Drive Electric Week in-person event started at 11:00 (previous information had it starting at 10:00) at Stewart Park in Ithaca at the southern tip of Cayuga Lake. The extra time gave me an opportunity to visit and top off at the Ithaca Supercharger which opened just last year.
The array of EVs included Nissan Leafs, Chevy Volts and Bolts, Toyota RAV4 Prime, and Teslas. Model S, Model X, and Model Y were all represented there.
After an hour of socializing, educating, and sharing experiences, many EVs joined a caravan to Summerhill Brewing in Summer Hill, NY near Cortland. The trip took us through some beautiful scenery along country roads. It was an enjoyable drive.
We arrived at Summerhill Brewing, lining up with a sizeable contingent of EVs. We enjoyed some delicious food, craft beers, and local wines in this cozy, but comfortable venue.
It was another successful Drive Electric Week event despite the pandemic restrictions. We'll be back next year for more local Drive Electric Week events.
