Spurred by excellent pre-event media publicity (including major local TV, radio, newspaper, and internet sources), this past weekend's Buffalo Model 3 Test Drive event was a success in all measurable aspects! Here are some the numbers:
A big thanks goes out to Brennan's Bowery Bar for providing a home base for the event. Not only did they provide a welcome respite from the outside cold, but also Tesla-themed food and drinks!
Beyond the out-of-area Tesla staff and TOCNYS volunteers, the event was attended by local Gigafactory 2 employees as well as the Tesla Mobile Technician who services cars in Western NY. The latter was in high demand, fielding questions from both Tesla owners and test drivers alike.
According to TOCNYS member John W., "the flow of patrons couldn't have been better. Never a waiting line for test rides, and just the right attitude by everyone."
Feedback from the test drivers themselves was also highly positive with Buffalo native Michael M. saying, "a Tesla Model 3 owner let me take a drive in his car. How fantastic! Now I really want one. I am still not sure if I want to get a new Model 3 or a used S. I definitely want the full self driving... Thanks again."
Test driver Gary S. also had no shortage of positive things to share about the event:
I just got home from the Tesla event at Brennans. I live in Clarence which is close by. I attended both days and am glad I did. I met a lot of Tesla owners and was able to discuss the cars. On Saturday I brought a friend who was interested in driving a X, which he did. I think the event was a great idea and a success. Though the weather could have been warmer the turnout was good. I hope to see more Tesla events in the Buffalo area... Thanks for putting this together!
To cap things off, members of the press also stopped by during the event and contributed to the post-event media coverage. Here's one such article from The Buffalo News.
All in all, a very successful first Tesla test drive event in Buffalo and the hundreds of names on the sign up list ensure that it won't be the last!
