Tesla has been winning the high-speed EV charging game for a while now, and they hit an important new milestone this week. Tesla now has over 30,000 Superchargers worldwide, announcing the accomplishment via twitter. The 30,000 number relates to the number of individual stalls which are spread out among 3,100 locations. In the last six months alone, Tesla has added approximately 5,000 new Superchargers, a very impressive feat that leads one to believe they will be on top of the high-speed charging scene for years to come. It is also worth noting that Tesla opened their Supercharger stations in Europe to other automakers, something that we could see in the future in the US.

Waypoints Added -

One of the things that Tesla owners often appreciate most is that the infotainment system is constantly being updated. Another advantage to this over-the-air software update approach is that Tesla can listen to feedback and feature requests from owners and implement them quickly. One of the most requested features has been the addition of waypoints to the navigation system. Waypoints allow owners to set a string of destinations in their GPS rather than just one. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has acknowledged the mass requests for waypoints months ago and claimed that they are coming. Months of anticipation later, owners finally received waypoints this week via update 2021.40.5 and will at last be able to feel the thrill of adding multiple navigation points to one drive.
