This Week in Tesla: FSD Public Beta Delayed, Semis Getting Put to Work

FSD Public Beta Delayed to May or June -

Tesla is currently in the process of beta testing their feature complete full self driving software. The software will be capable of navigating through intersections, making turns, and doing just about everything necessary to get you from one place to another. In a recent tweet from Tesla CEO Elon Musk, he stated that Tesla is looking to make the software as safe as possible before releasing it to every customer that purchased the FSD package, which will hopefully be next month. Currently the FSD package costs $10,000 but Tesla is also going to implement a subscription program so that owners can have a cheaper option that requires less of a commitment. This is a great option for new owners who are not sure as to whether or not they will like or use the features included in the FSD package.

Semis to Be Used Between Fremont and Giga Nevada Factories -

For a couple months, multiple prototype Tesla Semis have been spotted along the route between Giga Nevada and the Fremont factory. As Semi moves closer to production, Tesla is increasing the infrastructure required to use their own trucks instead of traditional diesel trucks. Tesla is currently looking to hire Semi service technicians for the following locations: Fremont, CA, Reno, NV, Stockton, CA, Rocklin, CA, and Fresno, CA. As per usual, Tesla is launching their Semi service program primarily in California, but interestingly, there was another job listing in Mississauga, Ontario. This is interesting considering that Walmart Canada, based out of Mississauga, has an order for 130 Semis. It seems that this service location will primarily serve those trucks, but there are other companies in Canada that also have orders for Semis, such as Mosaic Forest Management.
