Tesla Reportedly Increases Solar Tile Roof Installations
In mid-October, Tesla announced the new version of their Solar Roof tiles, and four months ago Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that they hoped to be installing 1,000 Solar Roofs a week which they have definitely fallen short of. Unfortunately, ever since the unveiling of the Solar Roof in 2016, they have disappointed customers, consistently falling short of installation expectations.
Musk has recently said that they will finally begin to ramp up their installations with the textured black tiles and then move onto the other designs. Most of the prior delays were due to Tesla having to focus on more urgent matters, such as production of the Model 3.
Westport Connecticut Puts Model 3’s Into Police Work
As the cost benefits of EV’s become more and more apparent, the Model 3 has been increasingly used by police departments. Recently, another way that police departments can save money by using Teslas has surfaced: The Westport Police Department has discovered that the autopilot cameras can be used in place of the traditional cameras that would have to be installed all-around a police car. The estimated cost savings of this are nearly $3,000 which means that the Tesla was not only a good investment for tax rebates and not having to pay for gas, but now they do not have to pay for cameras for their cars.
