In the abstract sense, Tesla Owners Club New York State members already have a sense that we're part of something bigger than ourselves; the EV revolution, the Green movement, the dream of saving the planet and having lots of fun while we do it... However, there's also something more concrete that we're all a part of: the worldwide Tesla Owners Club (TOC) network!
You see, TOCNYS is not the only Tesla-sanctioned TOC out there - we just happen to be the club that covers New York State. Currently there are clubs worldwide totaling 50,000 members! Check out the official Tesla Owners Club Directory for a list and the map below to see where in the world they are.
The next question is where do we (TOCNYS) fit in this big picture? According to the numbers (see figure below), TOCNYS at 355 members currently is more populous than the average North American club, but less so than the average European and Asian club. (That's sure to be temporary though, as we're growing fast!)

Did you know... that in April we participated in the first ever global TOC event? It was the Tesla Owners Earth Day event and TOCNYS took part through 3 local events: Drive Electric Earth Day Penfield, Skaneateles, & Syracuse. Here's the official summary:
Over the weekends of April 13/14, 20/21, and 27/28, Clubs around the world were encouraged to engage with Earth Day events in their local communities, and help spread awareness of Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
Clubs taking part in these events were provided graphic assets and talking points based on Tesla’s first ever Impact Report, creating the first ever truly global Tesla Owners Club event.
Clubs held various types of events, ranging from Cars-and-Coffee, to ride & drives, to scavenger hunts promoting ways to recycle and clean up litter in their local neighborhood.
