The weather was decent going into this monthly meetup and group drive on October 9, 2021, but we ended up with sprinkles for the first time this entire season.

Not to worry, a hearty (and hardy) group of seven longtime and new members assembled, single file, out front of the starting point. That would be Depeau Park in somewhat bucolic Pendleton—with a North Tonawanda ZIP code. Go figure.

True, we usually get a stronger turnout, though the weather may have been the deterrent. Not for this surgically clean specimen from one of our enthusiastic members!

Then we drove. Or FSD did!
Our winding, ten-mile motorcade along the Erie Canal took us past barnyards, through hamlets, and past a cycling buddy of mine who thought it was “COOL!” to see us wending through the neighborhood.

The destination, in the epicenter of the ancient logging town we fondly call NT, was the relatively new SPoT Coffee, kitty corner from the historic Riviera Theatre, and sporting its own nautical theme. Including a faux fireplace.
To be honest, we were all so engaged in conversation (and caffeine) that Yours Truly missed all chances to photograph that part of the event!
Better late than never, the last four dudes posed for this almost-album-grade shot. We wondered why anyone would dump those flowers, but that will remain an NT mystery.
